Start-Up, Commissioning and Testing Of Electrical Systems Course
Course Overview:
The course comprehensively examines the electrical systems and modules focusing on start up, commissioning, testing, and diagnostics methods.
AC and DC systems along with emergency and cogeneration power, transformers, switchgear, motors, and motor control centers are included. Students will work with a variety of test equipment and learn proper procedures for system installation and servicing.
Among them, to mention only a few, electrical wiring protection, electrical wiring configurations and electrical safety protocols are studied, including examples, case studies and practical exercises.
The audience for this course is electrical engineers and supervisors or technicians who are responsible for the commissioning or maintenance work.
Course Objectives:
- To develop a structured approach to electrical systems using common terminology and to provide methods and solutions for various electrical systems start-up and commissioning.
- To develop a better understanding of various test equipment used in electrical testing.
- To develop a better understanding of various electrical equipment and control systems design, functionality and failure modes.
- To better understand work practices, which allow for successful start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting including job plans.
- To provide examples of successful techniques and ‘hands on experiences plus case studies and group problem solving exercises
Who Should Attend?
This course is intened for Electrical Maintenance Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians working in start-up, commissioning or testing related roles that need either a greater awareness of, or to become more proficient in, the aspects of electrical systems and electrical maintenance activities. Because the methods and examples are generic, personnel from all industries will benefit.
