Course Overview:
The Refresher and Back to Basics Workshop delves into fundamental areas of automation and control, which are reviewed in detail and are on par with the current trends. For five days, the participants will engage with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) which include PLC functionality, troubles in PLCs, programming compliance, and control theory such as PID control through PLC modules.
The course also includes SCADA Systems where the students will learn on configuration, trending and communication such as TCP/IP and wireless systems among others.
Also to be covered is Process Instrumentation such as measurement of flow, temperature, pressure, level, smart instruments, Foundation Field bus and Profibus. The audience will get familiar with Data Acquisition too addressing configuration, communications and other new trends related to data logging and isolation.
This is followed by a Workshop on the basics of Process Control with a specific emphasis on PID tuning and its components such as cascade, feedforward control and other enhanced techniques such as lambda tuning.
This course can be taken by specialists like engineers, technicians and operators who require or want a thorough revision of control systems and above the use of the systems.
