Power System Protection and Relaying: Electrical Protection System Course
Course Overview:
This course aims to train the participants on the selection, design, and analysis of the protection systems needed to be installed in a power system.
They will get practical exposure to fault level calculations, feeder and transformer protection, and even the protection of generators, along with more sophisticated line protection relays and busbar protection.
The subject of the course encompasses protection relay types, mechanisms of co-ordination of the devices and communication protocols for system controllers.
This course is directed to the engineers, technicians and managers who operate, plan, design or maintain power systems and prepares them for the role of optimization and security of electrical tools in this modern age.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this training course, you will learn how to:
- Select fit-for-the-purpose protection relays and other related devices
- Calculate fault levels and loadings of feeders and branches
- Develop and analyze typical power systems and their associated protection systems
- Analyze protection logics and coordination between protection devices
- Establish communication between protection devices and controllers
