Power Generation: Gas Turbines, Steam Power Plants, Co-Generation, and Combined Cycle Plants: Selection, Applications, Operation, Maintenance, and Economics Course
Course Overview:
This comprehensive course offers a thorough understanding of steam power plants, gas turbines, co-generation and combined cycle plants, as well as covers their design, operation, maintenance together with the economic aspects of its specific components such as utilization of compressors, turbines, generators and transformers.
Subject of emission limits, performance monitoring and publicity of new trends in co-generation and combined cycle technologies are also offered. Engineering and economical aspects of renewable energy systems: wind and solar power for sustainable generation are explored.
This course is focused on providing practical solutions and is designed for engineers, technicians, and managers who are engaged in or deal with power generation and distribution.
Course Objectives:
This course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of Steam Power Plants, Gas Turbines, co-generation, and combined cycle plants. Each of the components such as compressors, gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, deaerators, condensers, lubricating systems, transformers, and generators are covered in detail. The selection considerations, operation, maintenance, and economics of co-generation plants and combined cycles as well as emission limits, monitoring, and governing systems will also be covered thoroughly. All the significant improvements that were made to co-generation and combined cycle plants during the last two decades will also be explained.
