Overhead Transmission Lines Mechanical Design and Performance Course
Course Overview:
The course analyses the constitution and the communication networks of transmission line systems.
It goes further as to provide description on the workings and the various components of electric power systems, medium and low voltage lines, methods to calculate power losses and even factor improvement.
The course syllabus is quite broad in space covering fault location protection methods, earthing systems, and new revolutional methods of locating and repairing faults. Also tackled is mechanical construction, transmission power dips and economy of energy spent. Practical discussions including lockout/tag-out procedures, DC versus AC distribution, and many cover the most recent developments in the area.
This makes the course useful for engineers, supervisors and technicians dealing with maintaining and operating electricity power systems.
Course Objectives:
To help the participants to understand the science of the transmission lines and to understand the material and the properties of the system and the network in general.
Who Should Attend?
Electrical engineers, supervisors, and qualified technicians.
