HV Outdoor Equipment’s (CBs, CTs, VTs, CVTs, Disconnector) Design and Testing Course
Course Overview:
This course is designed to give the participants the knowledge and skills to operate, inspect, and troubleshoot outdoor high-voltage (H.V.) equipment.
It covers the potential causes of the malfunctions, the principles underlying the equipment’s maintenance, as well as the breath of tests which can be performed on switchgear, circuit breakers, grounding switches, and transformers.
Attendees will have an opportunity to better understand the requirements and practices contained in British Standards and IEC documents pertaining to testing and maintenance H.V. Equipment.
The course is addressed to electricity power engineers and advanced operators of a station and encompasses fundamentals of maintenance and repairs as a preventive and corrective measure in high voltage electrical systems to increase reliability of operation and efficiency.
Course Objectives:
By completing this training course, participants will be able to:
- Causes of H.V. equipment failures
- Maintenance regulations of electrical H.V. outdoor equipment and their function of operation and installation
- Testing and maintenance of the current transformers, potential transformers, capacitive voltage transformers, and switchgear
- Different types of outdoor H.V. circuit breakers and the causes of circuit breaker failure and how to do maintenance for switchgear
- Testing the different types of circuit breakers, grounding switches, and isolating switches
Who Should Attend?
