Generation Power Plants Voltage and Frequency Controls Course
Course Overview:
This course describes the voltage and frequency control systems used in power plants, in interconnected networks and in load centers in detail with examples.
The students will gain knowledge in the areas of power system controllers, automatic generation control, load frequency control, and economic generation control.
It also investigates optimal and suboptimal designs of the power system controls as well as automated control techniques which aid power management.
The course is aimed at graduating electrical and mechanical engineers, power plants operators and designers, the students understand how to optimize the control system for reliable, cheap and economical power generation.
Course Objectives:
The course aims to give the attendant engineer a complete idea about the whole control system of voltage and frequency in power plants, in its connected networks, and at load centers. An idea about the known and the projected controls will be put in evidence An idea about the economic generation techniques, besides the optimal controllers are to be given. Computerized controllers will be displayed during the course.
