Data Communications and Fieldbus Systems PLC and SCADA System Course
Course Overview:
The purpose of this course is to expose participants to different twenty-first century communication standards and their use in instrumentation and control systems. At the beginning, participants will be taught data transmission concepts starting with RS232 and continuing on to Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus and Ethernet.
Other topics covered include communication media, error detection, network topologies, and protocols - Modbus, HART, CANBus, and DeviceNet among others.
It also includes more advanced concepts IP protocols, transport layer protocols, Modbus Type over TCP. This workshop is intended for engineers and technicians who specialize in parts measurement, and control and communication devices, this program provides the capability to configure, troubleshoot and optimize smart field devices and communication networks.
Course Objectives:
This workshop is designed to provide engineers and technicians with an overview of modern digital communication standards - starting at the basic RS232 standard right through to Profibus/Foundation Fieldbus and beyond.
Who Should Attend?
This Intensive five-day instructional program covering the educational needs of Instrumentation and Control Engineers & Technicians, Communication Engineers, Operation Engineers, Process and Utility Supervisors, Technical Management, and Technical Supervisory personnel involved in Configuring and Testing Smart Field Devices. No specific prerequisite training or experience required for registration.
