Advanced Operation and Maintenance of Circuit Breakers and Switchgear Course
Course Overview:
This course aims at providing its participants a more thorough insight with respect to fault classification, principles of arcs extinction, and the importance of circuit breakers in protecting a certain power system.
Additionally, as part of their training, participants will also be instructed about the requirements mandated by ANSI, IEEE, and IEC while also being taught the intricacies of routine inspection, the use of micro processors, and most importantly, the operation, maintenance, and safety measures needed for different kinds of circuit breakers like gas breakers and vacuum ones.
The course aims to provide electrical staff members not only the theoretical but hands on training as well which would then empower them with the knowledge to augment the reliability and the safety of a system.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Learn the importance of preventive maintenance check and servicing of the various types of circuit breakers
- Gain detailed information on the implementation of safe systems of work and operations
- Co-ordination of maintenance activities and maintaining system safety
- Understand the component functionalities of the gas and vacuum circuit breakers
- Familiarize with the methods of arc extinction for MV HV circuit breakers
- Familiarize with the routine inspections and the functions of the microprocessor component in the circuit breakers
