Above Ground Storage Tanks : Design, Operation and Maintenance Course
Course Overview:
This course is intended to provide all fundamental aspects of Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs) including mechanical integrity, hazard analysis and risk management.
Participants get exposure to API codes and standards (API 620, 650, 653) and acquire applicable knowledge about tank design, inspection, and repairing practices. Damage mechanisms, non-destructive evaluation, corrosion control, and structural assessment of tanks’ roofs, floors and bases are important subjects.
The course includes issues related to safety, seismic measures, and risk control (API RP 580).
This course is useful to engineers, inspectors and maintenance staff because it helps them to understand how to implement ASTs integrity management in a better way.
Course Objectives:
The key objectives of this course are as follows:
- To assist participants in clearly understanding and applying the various aspects of relevant API codes & Recommended Practices to ensure mechanical integrity through effective inspections in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
- To enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants in hazard identification, analysis and risk assessment and management.
- To provide participants with practical and effective methods and tools to perform practical likelihood and consequence analyses.
Who Should Attend?
Individuals who have engineering, inspection, maintenance, and/or management responsibility related to aboveground atmospheric storage tanks that store hydrocarbon liquids.
